Sungyeop Chung, Director, has a wide range of experience in U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, developing litigation strategies and trials.
He is experienced in writing infringement and validity opinions, and client counseling having conducted the same for a large electronics company in Korea.
He also has broad experience in preparing foreign patent applications, responses to office actions, and trial and litigation briefs for intellectual property law firms in Korea.
While being skilled in a wide range of technical areas, he has particular expertise in optical instruments, liquid crystal display (LCD), organic light-emitting diode (OLED), light-emitting diode (LED), plasma display panel (PDP), semiconductors, consumer electronics, and mechanical instruments, among others.
Mr. Chung has received an LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center, a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, and a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Sogang University.
He also completed the training courses provided by the International Intellectual Property Institution in Daejeon, Korea.
Mr. Chung is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and before the Korean Intellectual Property Office. Mr. Chung is not registered to practice law in the District of Columbia.
He is a member of the American Intellectual Property Lawyers Association and the Korean Patent Attorneys Association.
Mr. Chung is fluent in Korean.
